No surprises, but three Indians have made it to 'The 20 Most Influential People in Tech Right Now' feature by Times, USA.
Coming in at No. 5 among the most influential people is Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google Inc. Also named Pichai Sundararajan, he was born in Madurai, Tamil Nadu.
Coming in at No. 8 is Satya Nadella, CEO, Microsoft. He was appointed as CEO on 4 February 2014, succeeding Steve Ballmer. Nadella was born into a Telugu-speaking family in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India.
Ajit Varadaraj Pai, the current chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), is ranked at No. 11. In January 2017, US President Donald Trump named Pai to chairman of the agency. In March 2017, Trump announced that he would renominate Pai to serve another five-year term at the FCC, which will require confirmation by the U.S. Senate.
The son of immigrants from India, Pai was born on January 10, 1973 in Buffalo, New York.
