It is that time of the year when Oracle NetSuite connects with its various stakeholders to outline the company’s future direction. At SuiteWorld 2024 in Las Vegas, Evan Goldberg, the founder and executive vice president of NetSuite, addressed an audience of over 7,500 attendees. With this year marking the largest SuiteWorld ever, Goldberg spoke on the company’s growth, emphasising how NetSuite has crossed a significant milestone with over 40,000 global customers.
A key highlight of the keynote was the expansion of NetSuite's global cloud infrastructure. Goldberg said the addition of new data centres in India and Brazil, will bring the total to 36 data centres across 17 countries.
In India, NetSuite plans to expand its global cloud infrastructure with the addition of two new data centres in 2025, located in the OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) regions of Mumbai and Hyderabad. “This strategic expansion aligns with NetSuite’s commitment to following customer growth and demand, particularly in regions where its customer base is rapidly increasing,” Goldberg said, replying to a question on this plan specifically.
He explained that with “success in attracting new customers in India”, these data centres will provide enhanced performance, reliability and localised service, supporting “businesses in the region with the robust infrastructure needed to scale efficiently”.
NetSuite’s Big Play
Goldberg’s address centred around the theme of adaptability and the essential role of technology in driving sustainable growth in an ever-changing business environment. He spoke on how businesses today must not only survive but thrive amid constant disruption by embracing a foundation that allows for growth and agility. Using a vivid metaphor, he compared businesses to the interconnected root systems of the Redwoods, stating that just as these trees rely on a shared foundation for growth, businesses must lean on robust technology platforms that connect every function seamlessly.
Reflecting on the rapidly evolving world of technology, Goldberg positioned artificial intelligence (AI) as a game-changing force that is propelling businesses toward greater growth efficiency. He emphasised that AI is no longer a futuristic concept but a force multiplier that drives seamless integration across functions, enabling businesses to make smarter and faster decisions. He likened the result to the Redwood forest—an intricate yet perfectly synchronised ecosystem—drawing parallels to how AI can simplify complex systems to reveal growth opportunities.
Goldberg’s keynote also revealed the reimagining of NetSuite’s user experience. He promised a more natural, intuitive interface that anticipates user needs, automates routine processes, and allows businesses to focus on what truly matters. This new design system, spearheaded by his team, aims to make navigating complex business systems as effortless as possible.
He concluded with the message that in a world of constant change, businesses must equip themselves with a solid, adaptable foundation to weather any storm and seize every growth opportunity. With NetSuite continuing to evolve and integrate new technologies like AI, Goldberg’s vision is clear—he is not just helping companies manage their present, but preparing them to thrive in the future.
