1M1B Partners with Salesforce to Establish Inaugural Green Skills Academy in Hyderabad

The academy aims to upskill 100,000 youth in Telangana through hybrid training, equipping them with AI-driven tools to craft sustainability solutions and access green job opportunities statewide.

1M1B (One Million for One Billion) Foundation and Salesforce have joined hands to build the first physical centre of the 1M1B Green Skills Academy in Hyderabad, Telangana.1M1B, in collaboration with Salesforce, will set up a physical Green Skills Academy Centre in Telangana with the support of the state government, with a big focus on artificial intelligence (AI). By leveraging the 1M1B Green Skills learning path, this academy will empower young people with essential green skills and forge vital linkages to green economy employment opportunities. The partnership aims to train 1 million youth from Telangana by the year 2030, with the top 10 youths given an opportunity every year to showcase their work at the annual 1M1B summit at the United Nations in New York.

Earlier this year, the 1M1B Foundation signed a MoU with the Telangana Department of Information Technology, Electronics, and Communications Telangana and formed the 1M1B Green Skills Academy to accelerate the adoption of green skills amongst college youth in the state of Telangana through the Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK). 

The World Economic Forum estimates that the transition to a green economy could create 24 million new jobs globally by 2030. 1M1B, in collaboration with Salesforce, will set up a physical Green Skills Academy Centre in Telangana with the support of the state government, with a big focus on artificial intelligence (AI).

The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) predicts that the renewable energy sector alone could employ more than 30 million people by 2030. Aligned with this and other opportunities, the 1M1B Green Skills Academy Centre will also focus on training college students with industry-specific skills and provide linkages with green jobs in the state.
