Crestron launches Pyng OS 2 for Smart Homes

Crestron announced the upcoming release of Crestron Pyng OS 2, the operating system of the world’s smartest homes. Built into the new CP3-R 3-Series Control System, a secure enterprise-grade control system for residential applications that’s shipping in September, Crestron Pyng OS 2 supports full integration of video control and distribution including Crestron DigitalMedia products, AVRs, local sources, set-top boxes, remote controls, and more. Now, residential systems integrators can set up and deploy the complete customized Crestron smart home at incredible speed, and with an unparalleled user experience. Crestron Pyng OS 2 will be available as an update for all existing Crestron Pyng Hubs shortly after the CPR-3 product launch.

“Crestron Pyng OS 2 is, quite simply, an industry-changer. It’s the only operating system integrators and their clients need, in any sized home,” said Michael Short, Global Residential Marketing Manager at Crestron. “It brings together the full universe of best-in-class Crestron products in a complete whole home solution: lighting, motorized shades, audio, climate control, door locks, security, and now video, including Crestron DigitalMedia products.”

Rack-mount control system built for residential applications

The new rack-mountable CP3-R runs on Crestron Pyng OS 2, and has the advanced operating system “baked in.” The CP3-R includes a full complement of control ports to handle any sized home automation project, home theater, multi-room video, or MDU application. It integrates best-in-class Crestron hardware including audio, video, lighting, motorized shades, climate control, door locks, sensors, and other equipment.
