28 June 2017, Hyderabad: IIIT-Hyderabad and CA Technologies have signed a Collaboration Agreement to set up a Co-innovation Lab at the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad campus. CA Technologies engineers will collaborate with IIIT-Hyderabad’s research labs to build new technology prototypes.
As per the agreement, CA Technologies engineers and IIIT-Hyderabad researchers will collaborate on applied research projects which will include next generation interfaces such as Natural Language Processing (NLP), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and ML (Machine Learning).
Surya Panditi, general manager and senior vice-president, CA Technologies said, “We are pleased to partner with IIIT-Hyderabad to set-up the Co-innovation Lab. We aim to combine the strengths of research with industry knowledge for significant breakthroughs in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. This partnership is another step in our relentless focus on removing the barriers between ideas and outcomes, while deepening our commitment to actively engage with the academia.”
IIIT-Hyderabad is well-known for its cutting-edge highly visible presence in research. This partnership further strengthens the institute’s vision of ‘research for knowledge’ while constructively engaging with the industry.
Speaking on this new initiative, P.J. Narayanan, Director, IIIT-Hyderabad said, “This co-innovation initiative will benefit both research and the industry. We believe that the research being done at IIIT-Hyderabad can be productised and will bring research from labs closer to real world problems that the industry is solving.”
For IIIT-Hyderabad, the key outcomes of this partnership will be white papers for publishing in science journals and presentation at conferences. For CA Technologies, it will aid with reference architecture and prototypes that can be adopted for swift development.
