Vihaan Networks signs MoU with BSNL to develop Secured Networks

Vihaan Networks Ltd (VNL) has entered into an agreement with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL), to jointly explore possibilities for establishment of indigenous secured network to counter external cyber threats like snooping, illegal tapping, etc.

The agreement will give further fillip to Make-in-India initiative as the two home-grown telecom companies will work towards setting up 100 percent secured network for Government offices. The threat of cyber attacks has increased manifold over the years and any breach, particularly at sensitive installations including defence and banking channels, have the potential to escalate into a national security crisis.

“With technology being an important part of one’s life, we are also vulnerable to external threats and cybercrimes. Thus, there is an urgent need to have a secured communication network to protect one’s data from external threats. We look forward to working closely with VNL and develop technologically robust security system that will guard against any threat including data thefts," Anupam Shrivastava, chairman and MD, BSNL, said.

Rajiv Mehrotra, chairman and CEO, VNL, said: “We are proud to join hands with BSNL to undertake steps to strategize, plan and carry out building secure telecom infrastructure and enhance national security. As a domestic company that has been at the forefront of cutting edge technology, we precisely understand the varied requirements of our vast nation and we hope to develop an impregnable cyber security veil that can be used to protect vital assets.”
