Software Intelligence Demystifies Digital Transformation

Digital Transformation is not as easy as it may be perceived. Its not a matter of going digital or deciding to be digital first or digital only.  Its also not only about customer delight and customer centricity.  It is a lot more about dealing with the technology, both inside and outside an organisation.  While externally, an IT leader or a CIO would be adequately aware of the applications and software available that could aid the Digital Transformation journey s/he is entrusted with.  The challenges is most about inward assessment.

An organisation is not developed in a jiffy.  It’s a legacy of several years.  During these years, the organisation would have rode on several technology rides.  A typical organisation would have been a part of on-prem proprietary era to completely virtualized on-cloud environment.  As a consequence, every organisation has its own Software or application bank.  Like any bank, it would not be having every asset in the same currency.  There would be other complications like adhering to different standards and compliances from time to time.  All this gets clocked during the journey of an organisation.

So, there is a lot of intelligence required by a CIO / CTO / CDO to analyse the entire software portfolio and visualize the pros and cons of these assets.  The charge de affairs needs to get insights about what to continue and what do disassociate from.  It needs inputs about which software and applications are no longer useful and possibly are no longer manageable.  Also, an essential element of any Digital Transformation journey is the decision of making the assets virtual and flexible.  So, divesting from on-prem architecture to on-cloud PaaS / SaaS frameworks.  This needs introspection of the entire applications and software to understand their feasibility of virtualizing them.  Many a times, the codes and the software architecture require redesigning and rewriting to make them ‘cloudable’.

Additionally, a CIO needs to have single simplified view of what all compliances are required and if the applications and software in use or planned to be used are adhering to the requisite certifications.  Even, it is essential to understand if there is any malicious code or undesired lines in the software which are harmful or could potentially harm the IT infrastructure due to one or the other loophole.

The above tasks towards preparing for Digital Transformation appear easy. But, only a CIO can visualise what it means.  How humongous the task is and how challenging it could be to achieve 100% results in such manual / semi-automatic exercises.  That is exactly where Software Intelligence comes handy for any CIO and it simply works like Aladin’s Ginny which does all of it for the master.  With Software Intelligence tool, a CIO can get real-time, complete and single view of how the software bank of an organisation looks like.  It also recommends the diagnosis which will make the applications ready for the desired Digital Transformation.

The beauty of Software Intelligence is that it empowers the decision making of a CIO. It does not automate the process, rather provides the impossible hard to fetch details and insights about the software assets of an organisation which a CIO would require for an effective Digital Transformation.  As Digital Transformation graduates from presence to performance driven objectives, Software Intelligence will only earn significance in organisations and become every CIO’s darling application to look for.
