"India is in a prime position to drive the global power of RPA", Daniel Dines, CEO and Co-founder of UiPath

Over 1,200 Robotic Process Automation (RPA) experts, speakers, business leaders and developers attended two days of RPA conference hosted and organised by UiPath, the leading enterprise Robotic Process Automation (RPA) software company, in Bengaluru recently.

Billed as the largest conference of its type, the two days of conference reinforced India’s position at the forefront of the RPA revolution, and showcased both the business opportunities, and the incredible talent India has to offer.

The two days of conference included #UiPathForward India, saw one of the largest gatherings of experts and leaders in RPA in India. The day featured nine speeches and discussions surrounding RPA, its application within business and its promise for the future.

The conference brought together some of the top minds in RPA development and coding, and enabled the developer community to discuss the technology behind RPA, overcoming future challenges and self-learning, and compete in a Hackathon.

BW CIO spoke to Daniel Dines, CEO and Co-founder of UiPath about RPA solutions, India as a country in the backdrop of the same and the AI industry.

"India is in a prime position to drive the global power of RPA"

India is the country where RPA has been invented and used the most compared to anywhere else in the world. We are tracking all our developers across the world but probably in India we have half of the total developers, we aim to double it.

What solutions do you suggest in case of a business facing challenges such as bots' downtime or rebuilding systems and what RPA solutions do you provide to your customers?

Our architecture can be configured to switch over to a second replicated environment with no additional license fees needed for this. In addition, our software is installed on the high Available system architecture. For upgrades we centralized the Bot management in the latest version so that it requires less time and effort for a large-scale bot configuration.

UiPath provides solutions for many areas, e.g. know-your-customer services, reporting automation, data tracking, data consolidation, fraud detection, unstructured data consolidation, etc.

How can businesses benefit from RPA and AI in reducing costs while processes run non-stop, 24X7?

RPA brings significant benefits for businesses. Cost reduction is of course one benefit, one of UiPath’s Japanese clients forecasts billions in savings using our technology. However, I would say that the biggest benefits come through improved customer service, more accurate reporting, transparency and error reduction. When repetitive tasks are automation, human beings are freed to then perform higher-value jobs, such as in customer service or analysis, this both improves staff morale and overall service levels. Furthermore, our RPA software is 100% accurate and is not prone to human error which is common with repetitive tasks, so we see massive error reduction which is particularly important for compliance tasks. Additionally, every activity the robot does is logged and filed, ensuring that the client knows exactly what has been done and when, making auditing and compliance easier. Lastly, the fact that UiPath’s solutions do not change the underlying code of the client’s IT system means it will never compromise the integrity of the application. The robots access end user computer systems exactly as a human does, ensuring minimal disruption, fast implementation, and very low risk
