Imperva Inc. announced that NTT TechnoCross Corp., an IT services company, is using the Imperva Incapsula service to protect its website from cyberattacks.
NTT TechnoCross deployed the Incapsula service across its customer-facing websites to ensure protection from business crippling DDoS attacks and malicious web application attacks using the service’s DDoS Protection and Web Application Firewall (WAF) features.
NTT TechnoCross offers its customers advanced IT services and technology and develops a wide range of businesses by leveraging state-of-the-art security, cloud and network technology. As a company that has built its brand on security technology, it was imperative that NTT TechnoCross protect itself and its brand against cyberattacks.
With technical support for cloud computing and security as a core company value, NTT TechnoCross decided to use cloud-based services for its site. It also switched from in-house operations to the use of external security services.
"Reliably defending the website against global-scale threats, such as DDoS attacks, became impossible to undertake in-house,” said Ryo Sakamoto, section manager in charge of sales and marketing at NTT TechnoCross. “The website security team was overwhelmed with the daily burden of working through the extensive chain of investigation, analysis, testing, full-scale response and reporting of results required to deal with these threats. Thus, our greatest concern was the risk of overlooking a threat because of an insufficient response."
After investigating various solutions, the NTT TechnoCross team found Incapsula to be the only cloud-based WAF that met its requirements of having a track record of global adoption, availability, ease of implementation, and reduction of operational load.
Once, Incapsula was deployed, Sakamoto immediately noticed improved website stability and a reduction in operational load. "The ability to achieve website stability without having to worry about threats has proven to be a huge win. In addition, we eliminated operational expenses equivalent to the cost of one staff person which allowed us to allocate staff time more efficiently," he said.
Yusuke Takahashi, manager, Business Solution Business Department at NTT TechnoCross, said, "As a cloud WAF solution, I believe that Incapsula is applicable to most websites in Japan and is the best solution, as it is easy for users and engineers to introduce and implement."
Imperva Incapsula is a cloud-based WAF delivered as a service that enables customers to protect websites and increase their performance, improve end user experiences and safeguard web applications and their data from attack.
Incapsula has robust WAF capabilities that can thwart web attacks, DDoS mitigation to ensure access to online business assets, a content delivery network to optimise and accelerate web traffic, and a load balancer to maximise the potential of web environments.
