Kaspersky Lab brought the CISO community together in the city of Mumbai on the 9th of March, 2018 for the CISO Summit 2018. The idea apart from bringing the industry together to create awareness on cybersecurity, was also to launch their product Kaspersky Threat Management and Defense in the Indian markets for the first time. It is a combination of Advanced Threat Protection and End Point Detection and Response according to Shrenik Bhayani, General Manager, South Asia, Kaspersky Lab.
During the summit Shrenik Bhayani discussed the advantages and the difference in the product launched by Kaspersky Lab.
“If you look at cybersecurity and our version of the product we are viewing it as a complete process. It is where a customer has to define a specific set of processes on their end on the whole cybersecurity aspects. The relevance of where we are coming in, unlike the competition is that we are approaching the customer and talking to them on not just about the products but the value that we bring around the gambit of services we bring along with us. For example, the customer is today trying very hard to bring in the awareness of cyber security and we have brought online and offline modules around cybersecurity awareness. We have training workshops where we discuss threat detection and mitigation regarding specific problems with their own data. There are also some interactive discussions we do around intelligence reports because it is not about what you know but what you need to know. I am very sure that from our portfolio we are well placed to the need of the customer and we can address a larger part of cybersecurity as a process needs at the customer end.”
“In my experience, while covering the Asia Pacific region I have seen customers who are buying products and services from individual vendors. The customers have not been communicating with each other and have only been able to solve a few problems and threats. Hence the solution that we are introducing will help us complete the cycle while discussing how to solve issues and at the same time complement our products with the knowledge that we can supplement the information to the customers. We aim to help them to get back and run their businesses smoothly and as soon as possible.” Said, Leonard Sim, Head of Presales, APAC, Kaspersky Lab, giving an overview of the Kaspersky Threat Management and Defense.
Shrenik Bhayani during the discussion also stated that the key verticals Kaspersky Lab are focusing on are the BFSI industry, the government and industrial cybersecurity. Areas like large power plants and infrastructure that have many of their processes on digital would be of major interest too because they believe the product has the potential to detect and ensure threats on Supervisory Control and Data Action or Programmable Logic Controller networks.
Fino Payments Bank which is also a key customer for Kaspersky Lab provided their inputs on their product. Subhramanian Sabapathy from Fino Payments Bank discussed the products and services rendered by Kaspersky.
"Our business has been supported by Kaspersky Lab since 4 years now. We are using the Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business – ADVANCED and MSA product by Kaspersky Lab and are satisfied by their quality services which has never let our minds switch to any other product. We have been very selective when it comes to the security of our company because we want the best, and so we chose Kaspersky Lab. They have a research team that works 24*7 which helps them to find out any vulnerability or potential targets even before it hits India, which works the best for us. Their regular system updates also help the business to stay safe. There have been no doubts in our minds when it comes to cybersecurity by Kaspersky Lab." Said Subhramanian Sabapathy, Associate Vice President, Fino Payments Bank.
